all that I am is only what you have given

I denied you I didn't give you the glory
and it's just not enough that I say that I'm sorry
after I sang I'd turn it all back to praise
I deny your involvement and my name I raise

when all along over the work I had prayed
and when it is finished now your part I fade
to insignificance and say the work is mine
when you had inspired each sentence each line

and I know what work I can do all alone
mess up the scene after the script is blown
not beautiful at all but chalked full of flaws
and certainly not worthy of an audiences applause
