Freedom

Somewhere deep in my heart
Heavens whispered that I am free…
So, how can I be a slave?
liberty has its place down and deep in me .
There´s no place I could hide from freedom
As its bells keep sounding like a rolling sea.

Dark are my nights and dreams
And dark is my path and skin
Dark is the beauty that lies withing me
If only you could see…

The breath of life spread hope
Over my black story
And captivity could not stand in the way
Of my destiny of courage and strength
Designed from eternity to me .

You thought I would die
You took for sure I could not survive
Thinking I was a slave
You mistook my very self
And forgot I would trail a way led only by the brave
