Lead Me to Heaven

I used to wonder the difference
between God's reality and my pretense.
He changed stumbling blocks to stepping stones,
no matter my sin, transgression, or offense.

God, on the highest of thrones
watched over my troubled souls He owns,
guiding my stumbling steps to Him,
protected and guided me through unknowns.

He filled my bowl to the brim,
He was my light when the going was dim.
My Lord and Savior smoothed the way,
He was my oak, my strengthened limb.

Lord you bring the light to my day,
and cast shadow and darkness away.
If a misstep should cause me to sway
to you for forgiveness I will pray.
