No Surrogate, Just You

When stakes are down
And you feel lost and totally alone
There is no way out but up;
That's when you need
The help of our Lord Jesus Christ;
But you don't quite know how to reach Him
For you never took the time to pray
And doubt whether He will even listen!

The good news of the matter is He truly cares;
If you seek Him with your whole heart you will find Him;
Don't engage a surrogate to do this deed for you;
For He desires a personal relationship
Between just you and He!

So, on your knees with heart sincere
Call out to Him with confidence
If words fail you, don't be discouraged
Just simply say, "Help me, Jesus, please,"
These sincere words alone are sufficient you will see
For He needs no speech or yard-long tale
Of how and why you reached
The plight you're in!

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest."
(Matthew 11:28)
