Sojourners

Losing a loved one, no matter how old
Pulls at our heart-strings; shatters our inner peace
Leaves us depressed, makes us question
The love of God!

But God cares and understands, He truly does;
He allows us to express our grief, but only for a while;
Then He gently reminds us that He is in control
That we each are merely sojourners
In this present chaotic world;
That we must expect and accept
The rest He offers from our struggle;
For Eternity with Him is our final destination!
What blessed assurance, what peace of mind;
Praise the Lord, this present world
Is not our final destination!

Jesus said, "And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again, and receive you unto myself;
That where I am, there ye may be also."
(John 14:3)
