The Pearl of Great Price

on Matthew 13:45-46

The Merchant Man owned many things
Including heaven and earth.
He owned so much there was no way
To estimate it's worth.

But He found Himself unsatisfied;
He longed for greater still.
He started seeking goodly pearls
His longing heart to fill.

At last He found His heart's desire,
A pearl of greatest price,
And then He sold all that He had
And made the sacrifice.

He sacrificed His own Dear Son
To buy the pearl that day.
The purchase satisfied His heart
In each and every way.

The blood of Jesus Christ, His Son,
Was shed upon the tree
To buy that pearl of greatest price;
That pearl He bought--was ME!
