Please Take Me

Would I that You had taken me Father
Moments when the world seemed so foreign
That only being with you seemed to comfort
And I asked that my first death happen now
Once in awhile this is my prayer
Instead you have filled my life with your will
The things I shall do with the love you bestowed
Amazed I am still that You would use me as vile as I was
But Scripture ensures that You would use that which was
weak or foolish
Striking my pride, now I can say please use me
Because I am just this which is prime
A foolish man full of love for the lost
Someone without fear previously
Someone who will stand before kings or the imprisoned
That I can save even one would be food
For this is the food I seek now with an appetite
But I cannot lie Father, nay
I would that you take me now
For seeing my Lord glorified
Being near to praise and worship in song
No fantasy holds more for the saint
With You I do belong
In His name, Amen
