A covered bridge
wildflowers scattered
near shore
rippling water
rushes
ducks bob their heads
a fawn drinks
nary a care
no fear
old man tugs his line
the pole bends
such a peace
elsewhere can't
be found
a dream for
a time to come
two silhouettes
in the shadows
become as one
longing for
time to stand
still
even for just a
moment
or
eternity
a hand
reaches down
from the heavens
and the touch
is sure
peace from now
on
He
is come.
