School Prayer

Father as my children start back to school
I ask that the Holy Spirit be used as a tool
For defense
Against any weapons that the enemy may use as offense
As they travel from and for a safe journey home
Allow those angels assigned to hover and not roam
When they walk the halls
I plead the blood of Your Son Jesus to shield them when danger calls
Let the Fruits of your Spirit decorate
As they communicate
Lord, please saturate the air
With Your grace, before they sit in class and share
During times of conflict permit Your peace
To infiltrate any quarrels as Your love is released
Create in them the desire to press toward the prize
As they ramble through their supplies
Lord touch the administration, faculty and staff with Your persistence
So that in times of adversity, using Your power, they can go the distance
Father in the case of an emergency
Be generous with your tender mercy
Lord as that teacher stands in front of the class and whispers a silent prayer
Reassure them in a child's smile that You are listening and always there
As they break for lunch and other activities that may take them outside
Embrace their conscious with Your sweetness so that it can be their guide
Hazards are spread like fresh paint and perils are hidden that I just won't be able to guard
Yet Lord I know that for You, there is nothing that's too hard
Lord plant discernment into their minds
As threats hang on corners and risks are seemingly easy to find
Lord no matter what is seen or heard
Give my children the strength to stand on Your Word
Father I know that I must
Trust
In Your will
Strive daily with my faith while we are apart and be still
