The Only Death I've Ever Loved

Minutes to hours
Still hanging there
Tired and thirsty
Nobody cared
Pain neverending
Riddled with strife
Payment for sin
Ransoming life

Trying to breathe
Dying to die
Psalm twenty two
Eli...Eli...
Mary stands weeping
She loves her son
Not understanding
What good this has done

With every breath you take
Sin kicks your lungs
Recoil in the pain
Sin steals your blood
With every move you make
Death drawing near
Infinite centuries
Forever they will hear

As gruesome as reality may seem to be
And hate seems somehow to rise above
I know Jesus came and died for me
The only death I've ever loved

Hours to moments
Victory is near
Devil stands laughing
Pierced with a spear
Laugh it up now
Tomorrow you roast
The Lamb of God
Gave up His ghost

As gruesome as reality may seem to be
And Love is lifted high above
I know Jesus came and died for me
The only death I've ever loved
