The two ofs of Love

Make low the proud
and coax out the weak
Comfort our groanings
'tis heaven we seek

Was it so long ago
that our path was directed?
When Hope came to greet us;
our hearts thus protected

Search me, O Lord
make me want of Your Way
blot out my weakness;
compel not my stray

Were I stronger of conscience
and weaker of spite,
I'd be filled with more longing
to search out Your Light

But alas, Lord, I'm blinded;
I fall on my face--
unworthy Your Blessings;
unworthy Your Grace.
