A Phony

What's holding you back?
Why won't you forge ahead?
What is it that you lack?
Are you hearing what's being said?

In agreement you claim to stand
With the prayers given for you
But you don't put it in God's hands
There are other things you're clinging too

In church you confess victory
But on the outside doubt spews from your lips
Your lifestyle can be construed as contradictory
And with this you must come to grips

You should always seek to progress
Since you decided to put your hand to the plow
In that same vein you must confess
And by all means let God can show you how

Yet this is what you say you believe
While in church you shout and praise
What could you possibly expect to achieve
Who'd of thought you're just going through a phase

Now since Christian is what you profess to be
There should be power in your testimony
Otherwise there may be others out there that see
And they may judge you as being a phony
