FATHER FIGURE

(In Tribute to Albert Young)

A mighty Father Figure,
Robust and stalwart tree,
'Twas constant warm reminder,
Now dust to us is he.

This strong Christian example,
With easy laughing talk,
Laid down a firm foundation,
Mark'd pathway for my walk.

With music he did hasten,
My underlying joy,
I learned and oft times listened,
As music he employed.

A child am I no longer,
Who watched this fam'ly friend,
Live constant a reminder,
A Christian to the end.

Now Christ called him to Glory,
While heartfelt pain there be,
We'll call to mind his story-
-his walk on Earth with Thee.

Oh, fond earthly remembrance,
From mortal mind this day,
Taught Scripture's Truths with patience,
And helped to guide my way.
