"You Must Have Loved Me"


Nine long months with weight gain and sickness
Labor pains and emotional ups and downs all for me
The nights spent up late when I was crying
Working two jobs just to keep my well being
Chastising me when I was wrong and teaching me when I didn't know the answers
Putting up with my father's abuse just to keep the family together
Moving us away when the pain was too much
Driving the distance just to keep us in a good church
Even though there were good churches around the corner
Kicking me out of the house when I got rebellious
Moving us into a different house when we needed it
Giving me driving privileges again even after I totaled your car
Taking the liquor out of my cooler before I carried it on the bus to head to Disney World
Rebuking me when I stepped out of the Will of God
Listening to me when I got my girlfriend pregnant
Praying for me when I was in trouble with the system
Surprising me on my birthdays and being present at my baptism
Rejoicing with me when I gave my life to Christ and helping me with the struggles of life


I want to thank you for being my Mom
For your unconditional Love, even when I was wrong
For the sacrifices and time and your patience and ease
When I think back on things, You must have loved me!


You must have loved me for taking those nails in your hands thorns in your head
For letting that soldier gash You in the side with that spear
For dying for us and resurrecting on the third day
For bringing us living Word for our souls
For bringing God's Spirit for our help and strength
For praying to God for us in John 17
For anointing Your Disciples to spread the Word
For being the best role model for us to have and for dying for our healings
For giving us the Power to do all things according to God's Will in Your name
For teaching us valuable lessons through parables
For loving me despite my wayward living
For making Yourself available for me to run back to when I was tired of sinning
For giving me a new life
For giving us such a beautiful day like Christmas to celebrate Your Birth
For doing God's Will
For standing up and not giving in to Satan's temptations
For giving us the Power in John 14:12 to do greater works
For being my Lord and Savior and most of all my Salvation
I Love You!


I want to thank You for being my Lord and Savior
For giving me Salvation, after my wayward behavior
For doing the Will of God and shedding Your Blood on Calvary
When I think back on things, You must have loved Me!
