It came to me, but I said no
For I could not believe,
That granted me was a gift
For all eternity.
I saw it all, but pride was strong,
My life was filled with doubt,
I saw His love in friendly smiles,
Which I had gone without.
My friends they told me what I lacked,
And offered me the key,
I took him up and found his love,
Which now I plainly see.
The Lord knows many just like me,
Who refuse to shine out bright,
The love He gives is always there,
I pray they see the light.
