Chronicles of the Twilight

An enigma it is
in the heart of kings
what proceeded the twilight scene,
Kids gave up the fun
and raced home for hugs.
Laughter eluded faces
as though the sun
went into deep sleep.

Slowly it arrived
with the darkness of night.
Fierce rattling engulfed the atmosphere,
as the invader' serrated sword caused grief
from forest to fortress.

Loud wails replaced the
crickets eerie sound,
while the bereaved king
ordered, the prisoners be set free.
God's people were redeemed
by the events that unveiled
in the twilight.
