THE BATTLE RAGES ON

Long and tiring is the battle,
the battle rages on.
Galloping hooves of the horses
of the riders of night follow
hot on my heels.
Legs of my valiant horse begin
to buckle.
My soul seeks rest   refreshment.
You are my shield, my Protector,
I call out Your name!
A multitude of warrior angels
on horseback descend from
the Heavens.
Dark angels retreat       lee in terror.
Heavenly hosts of light encircle me.
I pause   drink in life-giving water.
Rest my soul   pray for renewed strength,
For the battle rages on.
I fight to place the victor's crown
upon Your head.
