TREE OF LIFE
Enduring witness: Tree of LIFE
Felt so much sorrows, sufferings; pain ...
Yet! Love prevails throughout your grain
Revealed through faith, the Master's fame
Everlasting Love ... You're His symbol plain:
Upright and honored by God's hand
The True Memorial ... To the Son of Man
So, with thanksgivings do come now
Before this "tree of life", and bow!
And let Its Truths; Consume-your-Soul
O' Trunk of Life's integrity
With truth; Reveal to all that see:
The Most High Priest-JESUS CHRIST!
God's temple raised, upon your heights
Consecrating Cross ... Christ's offered flesh:
All to set man free ... From sin's yoke of death
Naked blood soaked back, dangling from your rack
That of Jesus ... All for man paid He,
that precious price, for Victory
And as yet; "The CHRIST"!
He gained on high your frame
"Love's"; everlasting declarations' claim:
"For it's now: Eternal Life ... Proclaimed!"
By this man's obedience to God's plan
Who once laid upon you ... Simple, crude and bare
Yes! Jesus chose that pain to hang up there
All while Glaring! Flaring! Scoffers stared:
Yet staying Calm ... Steadfast in trusting prayer
He bore our sins; Of what man couldn't bear
Upon your harsh-hewn timbers set to cross
Roughly six the wide; nearly ten the high
And being "humbly" clothed of flesh and blood
Twas who? That lay draped on you
But the Cornerstone of Faith-
They've hung! The Sacrifice-
God's chosen one
Held high with nails of hell
Embedded in your grain
Envy driven! Slowly through the Savior's pain
Showing just how deep, His Love displayed complete
Is forever God's story of death's defeat!
Of timbers, bathed in Blood and Water soaking deep
As did flowing crimson stain, your trusses-tame ...
Ever-cleansing pure; death's stench ... death's reign
Showing all ... sin's Atonement by Christ's name
Upon-yon honorable host of sacrifice:
Everlasting remnant-Tree of Life
