My Little Girl

My little girl, I made you just right
I put you where you are so that you can shine My light
I gave you gifts so you can use them for Me
I planned out your life, though it's not always easy
You made Me proud when you defended My name
And you stood firm whenever temptation came
You befriended the friendless and loved the unloved
Tears of joy streamed My face as I watched from above
All the heavens rejoiced when you gave your life to Me
For they knew what I know; the special person you would be
There's an eternal effect for all that you do
So remember, there's always someone watching you
You follow My example; you're blameless in My eyes
As your world caved in, it was I who heard your cries
When you feel alone, remember, I am there
My hand will guide you, though you're not always aware
When life throws you down, I will pick you up
Sometimes I'll test you, let My promise be enough
Beware of the Enemy, his trickery and deceit
Remember, I'm the only one who supplies all your needs
I've planned every detail, from your brown-haired days to grey
And I'll be right beside you, carrying you all the way
You bring glory to My name and a light to the world
I'm your Father and I love you, My child, My little girl
