DEVOTION
Ah, morning light is at my back
she has been still
watching me through windowsill
as I prayed and talked to my Lord
I am your beloved
and you are the lover of my soul
You fed me this morning
as I gave love to you
I felt peace fill me up
as air fills up lungs
We made love to each other this morning
and you reached out to meet all my needs
One touch from you made me weak in the knees
My lover is here to sit with me!
He wants to know my thoughts
and wants to confide in me!
Indeed, time with you flies
It's been hours and I don't know my position
because I'm lost in you
on the other side of my floor
seems you moved me all around my room
once to dance-
twice to adore
What I know this morning
is that the clock didn't wake me-
but your lips breathed on me
You got me up
to spend time with me
How special I feel
because you couldn't wait to see your child
Oh! How my Daddy loves me!
