GRASPING

I know you're in the
calm quiet places of my life
the spaces where
there's no noise
I will praise you on dusty roads
when the choir goes away
I will sing to you
You're still exciting-
even in boredom
Impeccable
Beauty
shines
through
moments of stagnation
But I struggle
to find you in drudgery
Let me eat of you
Let me sip from the cup of joy
Show me what to do
when the wringing of hands come forth
Can I dine with you in contentment?
Reveal yourself
through the exhaustive
tick-tock of the clock
Take my hand and show me
your universe
Let me see this life
through your eyes
